Sassi" (or "The Stones")
is a typical Italian country house, perfect for a quiet and
relaxing holiday. Located in the heart of the Sabine Hills
area, it is surrounded by charming hilltop, medieval villages
like Montasola, Casperia, Cottanello, and
Roccantica. The area is rich in history and landscapes: from
Montasola, several itineraries will let you explore the area's
beautiful landscape and natural resources, and a 30-minute
drive will take you to medieval Farfa Abbey or St. Francis'
Greccio hermitage. Cascata delle Marmore, the highest waterfall
in Europe, is only 35 km (22 mi) away. You can easily reach
historic Viterbo, the Popes' City; on the way, visit the famous
"Parco dei Mostri" (Park of the Monsters), near
Orsini Villa in Bomarzo, a small medieval village. Also close
to Terni and Rieti.
From
the Poggio Mirteto railway station (only
20 minutes by car), high-speed trains will take you right
to the center of Rome, where you can easily
connect to the Rome underground (2 lines) or bus lines. The
same train also takes you to the Rome International "Leonardo
da Vinci" Airport.
